Our Story

In 2015, I made a life-changing decision.

After years of living in the hustle and bustle of suburban Melbourne, I packed up and moved to a 150-acre property in the beautiful hills of West Gippsland, Victoria, with a dream of starting a pastured egg farm.

Like many farmers, I quickly discovered that while farming is incredibly rewarding, it also comes with long days and countless repetitive jobs.
Every morning and every evening revolved around opening and closing sheds, managing lighting, and making sure the hens were safe. I knew there had to be a better way.

With a lifelong background in electronics, I set out to build it.

Working alongside Evan and Daniel O'Brien from Chicken Caravan, we developed the very first ChickenMaster Controller.
The early prototypes were installed on my own Chicken Caravan 450 mobile laying hen vans, where they were put through months of real farming conditions.
Every day brought new ideas, improvements and refinements until we created a controller that farmers could genuinely rely on.

What started as a solution for my own farm soon became something much bigger.

Over the years, the ChickenMaster has continued to evolve, with new features and expansion modules added in response to feedback from farmers around Australia and overseas.
Today, FarmTronics Australia designs and manufactures a growing range of automation products that help simplify everyday farming tasks, improve efficiency, and give farmers greater confidence that their operations will keep running—even when they're not there.

At FarmTronics Australia, we don't design products from behind a desk—we design them from real farming experiences.
Every product is created with one goal in mind: to make life easier for the people who work the land.

Because at the end of the day, farming should be about more than just hard work.
By automating the repetitive daily tasks, we hope to give farmers something that's often in short supply—more time.
More time to enjoy the farm they've built, and more precious time to spend with family and friends.
