Create a Natural Sunrise and Sunset for Healthier, More Productive Hens

The LD Light Dimmer Module adds intelligent lighting control to the ChickenMaster™ and ChickenMaster™ PRO, gently increasing the shed lighting at sunrise and gradually fading it down at sunset.

Unlike conventional lighting that switches instantly ON and OFF, the LD Module provides a smooth transition that closely mimics natural daylight. When combined with the ChickenMaster PRO's Geographic Sunrise & Sunset feature, your flock experiences a consistent, stress-free lighting cycle throughout the year—without the need to continually adjust timers as the seasons change.

The result is calmer birds, reduced flock disturbance, improved welfare, better egg quality and a healthier, more productive laying flock.

How It Works

When the LD Light Dimmer receives an ON signal from the ChickenMaster or ChickenMaster PRO, it automatically begins increasing the light intensity from 0% to 100% over the preset time selected using the rotary switch.

When the controller removes the ON signal, the LD Module smoothly fades the lighting from 100% back to 0% over the same selected time period, creating a natural sunset effect.

Six adjustable ramp times (L1–L6) allow you to choose the transition period that best suits your flock and management practices.

Override & Test Functions

For maximum flexibility, the LD Module includes two additional operating modes:

• L0 – Override Mode allows the farmer to manually override the timer whenever required.
• L9 – Test Mode performs a complete 30-second fade-up and fade-down cycle, making installation, commissioning and maintenance quick and simple.

LED Status Indicators

The LD Module includes easy-to-read status LEDs for instant system feedback.

Green Power LED

• Illuminated whenever 12 VDC power is connected to the module.

Blue Status LED

Solid ON

• Indicates the lighting is currently ramping UP from 0% to 100%.
• The LED switches OFF once the selected ramp time has elapsed and full brightness is reached.

Flashing

• Indicates the lighting is fading DOWN from 100% to OFF.
• The LED switches OFF once the programmed fade time has completed.

Override Mode

• When Override is selected, the Blue LED simply reflects the input state, remaining ON or OFF to match the controller input.
